Northfork Ranch Supply had its humble beginning in approximately 1985 when a need for hi-tensile electric fencing equipment appeared to be growing. We responded by bringing in the Speedrite brand of New Zealand fencing products. In 1999, we became aware of a local demand for livestock mineral and feed and acquired a retired shed from Shell Oil and filled it with the Puratone line of livestock feed. We ran the store as best we could alongside our cattle ranch, and had customers use the “honour system” to mark down the feed and mineral they took as they needed it.

In 2004, we built the store that we run our business out of to this day. We began to stock a wide assortment of livestock products including animal health products, cattle handling equipment, livestock watering systems, and eventually, an assortment of workwear and apparel brands, including: Carhartt, Tough Duck, Red Wing Shoe, Muck Boots, and Canada West Shoe. We brought on full-time employees, and in 2014, we doubled the physical size of the store with a much-needed expansion renovation.

Northfork Ranch Supply is a family-owned and operated business, with Fraser Schram at the helm, with the help of his wife Carolyn. Part-time employees include family members and other local young folks. We take pride in re-investing our business income back into other local small businesses and organizations in the community of Cartwright and area. Aside from our personal experience and product knowledge, this is one of the main things that sets us apart from other big-box ranch supply or clothing stores.

The goal of Northfork Ranch Supply has always been to give our customers helpful, reliable service and products that are built for the real needs of ranchers.

Fraser’s history running a 220-head cattle ranch helps inform his ability to help source quality products and give ranchers advice on repair and maintenance. Many of the products that we sell have been used and abused on our own operation. If it doesn’t live up to our standards, we won’t sell it to you.
